Waikouaiti

Location : Karitane, Otago, South Island, New Zealand

Karitane is located just north of Dunedin, I took this picture on a drive there with my grandmother, to see the house she lived in 50 years ago. It's a cute little place, and if you go up from the bay where the whaling station used to be, you find this small Maori "sanctuary", I guess one could call it, which was reclaimed by the Maori community. There are a few trails, dotted with signposts informing visitors of various Maori legends. It's quite beautiful, if you enjoy tussocky landscapes. Unfortuantely, this is just another example at me being no good at landscape photography.
